Ancestral and Heritage Writing

Ancestral Writing for Family Tree Researchers

You've painstakingly researched your family's history, you have mountains of certificates, shipping records, war records, old photos, and information collected from family members.

So what now? Wouldn't you love to have all that research transformed into a story and bound in a book for future generations?

Now you can!

Send us a copy of your paper trail and photos along with any recorded interviews and our amazing writers will wave their creative wands and turn your research into a story full of heartwarming moments, tragic lost, and determined triumph. We can breathe the emotion into your research so you can pass on more than just facts to your children's children.

With each passing generation so many individual stories are lost - preserve your heritage before it's forgotten forever.

Broad Editing and Services can deliver a professional looking book complete with bound cover of your choice. Researching can take time so we can provide additional research on your behalf.

Choices

It's your own or your family's story and no one else's. It was your great, great grandfather who fell in love and married your great, great grandmother. It was your ancestor who was dragged from his sweetheart to fight in the war. It was your great grandmother who set sail on her own in search of a better life with nothing more than the family trait of golden blonde hair.

Everybody's story is different; therefore, each story is unique and should be treated as such. We don't have a standard story where we simply insert names and call it yours. We write it from scratch using your researched information and make it wholly about your family.

It's up to you how many generations and branches of the family tree you wish to include. Some people want to keep to the direct line, other want to include as many family ties as possible - it's up to you. Because it's your story we understand you want choices on how the finished product looks, which is why we offer more choices. Receive your finished story as a Word document or pdf so you can do what you like with it in regards to binding. Or we can have your story bound for you and shipped to your door. How easy is that! Order one copy or more - it's up to you.

Heritage Writing

There are some towns these days that exist in the shadow of yesterday. While peaceful little communities now, once they were busting with thousands of people, miners, shop keepers and store owners, post office staff, farmers, mothers, fathers, and children - all making their way in live. What many of them probably didn't even consider was that they made more than a life; they marked the ground with their footsteps and created thriving towns. Some of those towns still thrive today as busy as ever serving their community or as tourist attractions.

The history of these towns are rich and just as important as the pioneers who fashioned a way of life out of rock - both of which deserve to be recorded for generations to come. If you belong to a community with an interest in preserving your town's history then we can help write it for you.

Heritage Researching Tips

You need to start somewhere, and the best place to start is with you and work backwards through the generations.

Have a written plan - it's very easy to get sidetracked.

Search for old photos, and check the back as some may contain handwritten notations on them.

Don't rely on one piece of information to identify a name or age of a person. People are notorious for changing their ages, or going by a nickname or even their second name.

Consider alternative spellings; not everyone could spell correctly, many couldn't write - not everyone could afford a proper education. Words and names can vary according to the country or even the era.
